So I had this daft idea that I'd start a YouTube channel to talk about Ham Radio.

There are a lot of Ham Radio YouTube channels and for this to work I'd have to be doing something new, different, or controversial!

The problem with YouTube is I would need to write scripts. Then find the time to video the content. Then find the time to edit the content. I might get comments that would need moderating.

Plus, I would need equipment. I know you can just use a 'phone, but in reality if I made more than a couple of videos it would soon escalate into cameras, lights, microphones, tripods and goodness knows what else.

All this was beginning to sound like a lot of work, which it would be, and I am retired, I don't do work any more.

But, BUT, if I am writing scripts, why not just publish those scripts as blogposts? Cut out all the video nonsense and the YouTube algorithm completely.

So here I am, my YouTube channel that's a blog!

I have unusual views about most subjects, including Ham Radio. I am not typical in my view on the world or ham radio for an elderly white man living in the UK.

The plan is to go back to 1970 when I took my Ham Radio exam, and create a series of blogs discussing that journey.

It might be a bumpy ride.

Best Wishes

Ron
